What Is WilDolomites?

WilDolomites is more than just a map. It’s a living tool built by a local photographer and outdoor enthusiast who calls the Dolomites home. Through years of exploring, photographing, and guiding clients, WilDolomites has been designed to help you:

The map offers a list of 260+ activities ( as of March 2026 – and constantly growing every week) divided in the following categories:

The areas covered are all the Dolomites from the Brenta-Adamello group to the Friulan Dolomites and averything in between.

Wild Dolomites is a photographic map: every experience and activity includes a real photo of the location, providing an authentic visual reference. For Van spots, the images show the current, real-life condition of the area, offering a reliable representation of the place where you can stop (it’s not possible to update it seasonably, but this should give you a pretty precise idea of the spots).

You can move directly in the map or use the search box. You’ll find a world of experiences that fits your pocket and is ready whenever necessary. As you type in the search box, only pertinent pins remain on the map. The word you type can be included in the title much like anywhere in the descriptive sheet.

HIKING pins just got better!

After getting a few feedbacks from the WD community I improved almost all hiking description sheets. WIlDolomites is not a specific map for hiking , but whenever possible (almost anywhere at this point) I added a trail map of the specific hike and/or area in the description page. This helps visualise the plan better. It is not a substitute for the real map in most cases, or an outdoor app with maps and GPS location. Read the article of my favourites apps to use when I plan hikes (as well as photo sessions).

We were finally able to develop a custom itinerary planner! Since there are several hundreds of pins now here, it would be impossible to include them all in this tool as well. So I thought about something that hopefully can bring some clarity in imaging the geography of the Dolomites too.

There’s a sort of a summary page for every area/valley, where you find the main experiences, be sure to check the main map to see them all. If you’re planning on touching a few basepoints, then this is perfect to visualise the whole trip and decide the best timing to visit around.

A journey starts as you start IMAGINING it. I mean, I’m a fan of when all we used to have in a new country was a paper map. There’s joy in the unknown, so I think it’s good to visually outline a trip, then adding or modifying as you go. This new tool allows users to start imagining the trip in the comfort of their homes, to prepare the ground for an unforgettable journey.
